Job DescriptionJob Summary
The WMC Project Coordinator supports the World Missions Center by coordinating programs, events, mission trips, and student travel initiatives. This role manages scheduling, logistics, and daily administrative operations while serving as a primary liaison to students, faculty, staff, and ministry partners. The Coordinator also assists the WMC Director and trip leaders in planning and executing all ministry and student engagement efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Plans, implements, and executes detailed operations for the World Mission Center (WMC) and Student Travel on Campus, encompassing mission trips, study tours, and other excursions.
- Assists travel program directors in coordinating trips with other institutional offices including but not limited to:
Human Resources, the Business Office, Student Financial Services, the Provost’s office, the Deans’ offices, campus technology, etc. - Schedules, coordinates, and manages communication for meetings and appointments.
- Arranges travel for speakers, faculty, and support staff, including registration, housing, and ground transportation, while liaising with travel agents, handling visa requirements, and arranging insurance.
- Provides oversight for the development of WMC missions programs and deployments.
- Aids mission trips, Southwestern events, and Student Travel leaders in logistics and adherence to Southwestern and mission partner policies.
- Coordinates with event speakers, mission trip leaders, or student trip leaders regarding budgeting, logistics, and other needs.
- Executes or delegate tasks necessary for event planning, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Prepares and submits WMC reports to the Provost’s Office throughout the academic year.
- Collaborates on risk assessment for all trips, including insurance, waivers, and power of attorney, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness.
- Handles sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.
Skills and Qualifications
- Current enrollment as a student at SWBTS or TBC is preferred.
- Experience in higher education processes and support strategies preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong work ethic and initiative; ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Exemplary social skills with an ability to be a part of and contribute to a collaborative team and demonstrate love and appreciation for cross-cultural interaction.
