Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager for key automotive projects. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of new product development, from launch through production approval and sustained manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a client-facing leader who ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards, ultimately achieving customer satisfaction and profitability goals for the Texas operation.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong communication and coordinating internal resources to ensure customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.
- Lead and manage the overall project lifecycle, including task allocation and coordination across mold, tooling, equipment, automation, materials, process engineering, and manpower planning to ensure effective project execution.
- Lead the project manufacturing development phase, establishing accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), packaging specifications, process flow charts, and Control Plans to build in advantages for delivery, cost, and quality from the early stages.
- Oversee the entire new product development process, culminating in the successful submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and the seamless transition to stable mass production.
- Master customer-specific quality standards and requirements. Ensure these are effectively translated into internal documentation and executed flawlessly to guarantee outgoing product quality.
- Organize and lead problem-solving activities for project-related issues. Proactively manage project timelines to ensure all customer milestones are met.
- Assist in the investigation and follow-up on critical customer complaints or major abnormalities.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field. Consideration may be given to exceptional candidates with an Associate's degree and significant relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in automotive components
, with specific knowledge of plastic injection molding and related processes. - Proven experience with IATF 16949 automotive quality management systems is required.
Skills:
- Strong familiarity with the following processes:
plastic mold development, injection molding, and assembly/testing
. - Experience with APQP, PPAP, and other core automotive tools is essential.
- Language:
Fluent in English (Mandatory). Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Business-level proficiency in Mandarin is a significant plus for coordination with the HQ team. - Must be eligible for international travel and possess, or be able to obtain, a valid business visa for other countries as needed.
