Job SummaryOur client is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer with a strong foundation in utility infrastructure, telecommunications structures, and electrical tower design. This role will focus on engineering analysis and design support for steel structures including poles and towers used in power delivery, telecom, and related sectors. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience using PLS-POLE software and a solid understanding of structural design standards and industry codes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations for electrical and telecommunications towers, poles, and associated support structures using PLS-POLE and other engineering tools.
- Support project execution by preparing engineering design packages, reviewing drawings, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, sales, and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality engineering deliverables on time and within budget.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of internal design tools, templates, and engineering standards.
- Participate in site reviews, technical evaluations, and project coordination meetings as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, structural engineering best practices, and changes to applicable design codes (NESC, ASCE, AISC, etc.).
- Provide occasional technical support to sales or client‑facing teams by reviewing feasibility and assisting with engineering estimates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (required).
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience in utilities, telecommunications, power transmission, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with PLS-POLE software (required).
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (NESC, ASCE 10, TIA‑222, AISC, etc.).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Solid Works, or other CAD tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional team environment.
