Job DescriptionAt Olsson, our Railroad Public Projects team specializes in providing staff augmentation services tailored for our railroad clients. Our expertise assists road authorities in effectively managing a variety of projects, including roadway widenings, closures, trails, structures, and the implementation of quiet zones. We are committed to supporting our clients with the resources they need to successfully complete their initiatives.
As an Entry-Level Public Projects Engineer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the coordination of public projects for our railroad clients. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities, including project management services, collaboration with various government agency project sponsors, overseeing project assignments from inception to completion, and ensuring timely reporting and effective communication with our rail clients.
Entry-Level Public Projects Engineers can expect occasional travel to job sites for observation and to attend client meetings.

You bring to the team:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Engineer Intern (EI) certificate or eligibility to obtain one
- Willingness to travel to project locations
- Capability to maintain constant alertness and ensure safety in all tasks
The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience relative to the position. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity.
Colorado Pay Range: $76,000-$88,000 USD
