Overview
You will be the System Safety Engineer Stf for the Fighter System Safety Team which is responsible for performing analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, and control using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques typically used in the design of aircraft weapon systems and sustainment activities.
Responsibilities- Perform Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), Software Hazard Analysis (SWHA), and other safety analysis methodology.
- Conduct risk assessments and trade studies needed to evaluate and optimize design choices and recommend appropriate controls to mitigate safety hazards.
- Interface and coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management and external customers.
- Establish software safety requirements in accordance with the appropriate standard and evaluate the functional impacts of noncompliance in coordination with design SMEs.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in STEM discipline (Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering preferred).
- Experience with and knowledge of System Safety analyses, standards, and tools.
- Experience leading projects and teams.
- F-35 Engineering Experience.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754.
- Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes.
- Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program or Software System Safety experience.
- Military or civilian flight experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with communicating cross-functionally.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
