Design Systems Builders (DSB), the self‑performance, pre‑engineered metal building division of T.W. Frierson Contractor, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our collaborative and innovative team. At DSB, we partner with General Contractors, Developers, and End Users to furnish and erect pre‑engineered and conventional metal buildings and related steel components.

The Project Manager holds responsibility for initiation, coordination, and follow‑through of all pre‑engineered and conventional metal building and specialty metal siding orders from suppliers. The secondary focus of this position is to coordinate and manage projects with internal superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all pre‑engineered and conventional metal building’s product design with internal and external design professionals.
  • Coordinate Division 5 products that integrate with the Metal Building Designs.
  • Interact regularly with Butler Manufacturing/Bluescope Steel.
  • Coordinate with the Estimating department for all pre‑engineered metal building orders and specialty metal siding orders from other suppliers using supplier‑specific estimating and purchasing software, as well as other means of placing orders such as emails and phone calls.
  • Schedule orders and review shop drawings prior to arrival at the correct location/time and troubleshoot any problems associated with the schedule.
  • Check in (and double‑check) shipping manifests once orders arrive at location and troubleshoot any problems with the order.
  • Coordinate and manage pre‑engineered and conventional metal building projects with DSB superintendents, General Contractor project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Administer and coordinate warranty and repair program for all pre‑engineered metal building projects, including receiving all client communications regarding repairs and warranties, scheduling and ensuring follow‑through on repairs and warranty inspections.
  • Coordinate billing of repair and warranty charges with the Project Engineer.
  • Ensure collection of billed monies and report problems to the Chief Financial Officer as appropriate.
  • Pursue additional metal building projects as time and resources allow.
  • Investigate replacement materials from other PEMB suppliers beyond Butler as needed.
  • Coordinate occasional conventional steel work with the same needs as PEMB.
  • Perform additional assignments at the supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in drafting, project management, or construction management preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of work experience in a pre‑engineered metal building / PEMB systems commercial construction environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer‑service orientation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents.
  • Ability to produce quality work in an efficient manner with little supervision in an ever‑changing environment.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Projects, ACC, Procore, P6 Scheduling, and internet‑based applications.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, adding machine, telephone, and mobile phone/radio.
  • Must possess a valid, state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
