Description
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a full-time Structural Design Engineer. In this role, you will:
- Conduct trade studies and evaluate alternatives—optimizing form, fit, and function of the primary and secondary structure and assembly
- Design, develop, and finalize structural arrangements and layouts with systems interfaces
- Develop structural design standard parts and fastener selection
- Create Build‑to‑Packages for detailed parts, assemblies, and installations
Required experience and skills:
- Experience with CATIA, Solid Works, or other CAD applications
- Experience coordinating with and supporting fabrication, assembly, MRB, quality, and supply chain aspects of Production Operations
- Ability to generate and present technical and administrative materials to a wide variety of customers and internal teammates
- Prior leadership experience and demonstrated success in aerospace product development

- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Bachelor's degree
- Experience in detailed design of composite and metallic structures
- Experience interacting with suppliers, external customers and Production Operation
- CATIA V5, PLM tool usage, product configuration development and maintenance
- More than 9 years experience in aerospace vehicle development
- Strong CATIA V5 skills
- Strong Fibersim skills
- Experience using Teamcenter
- Experience leading design teams
- Good interpersonal skills and group leadership
- Ability to clearly represent technical issues to senior staff including trade study results and available solutions
- Experience across new product development and fielded product sustainment
Requires a government security clearance. Must be a US Citizen. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.
Work Location & ScheduleOnsite Full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule:
4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
