We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) as part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell s High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.

Support Equipment Engineering at Bell is responsible for design activities related to preparation and release of engineering data for electrical and mechanical components and assemblies of varying complexities in support of aircraft maintenance.

This role is focused on the design, development, and support of Operational Test Program Set, Test Program Set development and maintenance for the FLRAA aircraft.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including the FLRAA customer.

Create detailed test plans and procedures, outlining the scope, objectives, and methodologies for testing.

The responsibilities of the position include working with internal and external customers to develop and document Operational Test Program Set, Test Program Set system requirements, coordinate efforts to analyze and translate these requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.

What you’ll be doing as a Support Equipment Embedded Test Engineer:

  • System Requirements documentation, validation, and verification
  • Work with internal and external customers to develop and document Operational Test Program Set, Test Program Set (TPS) system requirements.
  • Coordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the TPS development and fielded test hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet functional requirements.
  • Participate in a cross functional team environment completing a variety of objectives depending on the program lifecycle.

Skills You Bring To this Role:

  • Experience with Test Program Set hardware and software design
  • Experience with hardware and software design and integration
  • Experience working on Next Generation Automated Test Set
  • Familiar with high level programming languages
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated technical and DoD Operational Test Program Set, Test Program Set development skills
  • Experience with Military/Commercial Avionics design or maintenance, Operational Test Program Sets and Automated Test Equipment.
  • Experience with ENOVIA, 3DX PLM software, and Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Familiar with S1000D Publication Specification and GEIA-STD-007 Logistics Product Data.

What you need to be successful:

  • 5 or more years of experience with DoD Test Program Set development
  • Bachelor’s of Science degree with a Major in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
