Our Capital Delivery Section leads the review, design, and construction management of water and wastewater pipeline improvement projects. We’re looking for a driven, detail-oriented engineer with strong technical knowledge of water/wastewater design who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or related field
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience as a registered professional engineer, including two (2) years performing project management that includes design and contract administration of water and wastewater projects
- Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
- If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license
- The candidate should have strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, and strong reporting skills, both written and verbal
- Municipal government experience related to development
Job Responsibilities
- Shape the future of Fort Worth! Review construction plans for new neighborhoods, commercial developments, and major industrial projects that keep our city growing.
- Lead projects from start to finish. Manage complex water and sewer projects—from early design through final construction—while working closely with developers, engineers, and city teams.
- Apply your technical expertise. Interpret and implement design standards established by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to ensure top-quality infrastructure.
- Be a mentor and leader. Provide technical guidance and support to engineering technicians and other staff involved in water and wastewater engineering.
- Drive daily operations. Oversee meetings, plats, zoning cases, and site plans that shape Fort Worth’s landscape.
- Solve real challenges. Analyze development issues, recommend smart solutions, and see them through to success.
- Collaborate in the field. Work hand‑in‑hand with Operations teams to address construction challenges and keep projects running smoothly.
