Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated, hands-on Senior Practice Lead to expand our Federal practice in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead a Civil Works team while building and managing relationships with key Federal clients.
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Manage, lead, and deliver large USACE Civil Works projects and programs, including water resource projects and flood mitigation programs.
    • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
    • Provide vision, business planning, and strategy.
    • Establish goals.
    • Build and maintain positive client relationships.
    • Maintain open communication with partners and team.
    • Grow and lead a land development practice.
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, mentor staff, and act as positive leaders.
  • The successful candidate will have significant autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
  • Successful individuals will enjoy rewards such as an impressive bonus program and potential for ownership advancement.
  • Qualifications
    • 12+ years of relevant experience managing Civil Works projects in the Federal space.
    • Discipline expertise preferred in structural, mechanical, or civil engineering.
    • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
    • Extensive client contacts and relationships with agencies like Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, DHS, US Coast Guard, National Guard, or other Federal agencies.
    • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D.
    • Experience in business development, including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.
    • Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
    • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and allocate resources effectively.
    • Demonstrated profitability management of civil works projects.
