OverviewWe are seeking a technical and experienced Financial Controller to join our client's team in Dallas, Texas. This role is pivotal in managing our financial operations, ensuring fiscal health, and providing key insights to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing financial functions, driving compliance, and delivering strategic advice in a dynamic business environment.
As part of a global organization with a head office in Europe, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and foster a group-oriented mentality. This role also requires strong business partnering skills to support the US Managing Executive (ME) in achieving business goals, while leading, mentoring, and developing a relatively junior finance team to build a strong foundation for future success.

Key Responsibilities- Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Manage and monitor the company's balance sheet, ensuring accurate representation of assets, liabilities, and equity.
- Oversee cash flow management to ensure liquidity and optimize working capital.
- Drive profit analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights to improve financial performance.
- Demonstrate exceptional accounting skills, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial statements and processes.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to guarantee the integrity of financial data and reporting.
- Supervise and support accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the US Managing Executive, providing financial insights and support to drive decision-making and business performance.
- Collaborate with the ME to align financial strategies with local business goals, identifying opportunities for growth and cost optimization.
- Provide clear and actionable financial reports and analysis to assist the ME in tracking performance against objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing profitability, managing risks, and seizing growth opportunities.
- Act as a key financial liaison between the US operation and the head office, ensuring alignment with group-wide financial objectives and policies.
- Foster a group mentality by collaborating with global teams to share best practices, streamline processes, and support unified decision-making.
- Adapt to different cultural and business norms to build strong relationships across the group.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a relatively junior finance team, providing hands-on training and support to enhance technical skills and overall performance.
- Establish clear expectations, goals, and career development plans for team members to build a strong, capable finance function.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning, teamwork, and accountability within the finance team.
- Ensure effective resource allocation and succession planning to support long-term organizational growth.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as GAAP standards.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring successful audits and implementing any recommendations.
- Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Present timely and accurate financial reports to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, group executives, and investors.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in US GAAP, SOX compliance, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional accounting skills, with a proven ability to manage balance sheets, cash flow, and profit analysis with a high degree of accuracy.
- Advanced knowledge of financial systems, reporting tools, and ERP platforms.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a global group structure, with experience collaborating across time zones and geographies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to navigate cross-cultural dynamics and build strong partnerships with UK-based and global teams.
