Position Summary:

Hillwood Energy is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic and growing team in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting and operational excellence across our energy portfolio. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for key processes including monthly and annual financial close, account reconciliations, and audit support, while also contributing to treasury management and oil and gas revenue/JIB accounting.

Responsibilities:

General and JIB Accounting:

* Prepare and post accurate journal entries in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.

* Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

* Assist with monthly and annual close procedures, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

* Process oil and gas revenue transactions and Joint Interest Billing (JIB) entries, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Audit and Compliance:

* Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests.

* Maintain and execute internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Treasury and Cash Management:

* Participate in treasury management activities, including:

* Cash flow forecasting

* Transaction execution

* Bank reconciliations

* Liquidity reporting

* Strong foundation in financial accounting concepts, reconciliations, and reporting standards.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and general knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

* Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting experience required.

* Experience in oil and gas accounting and partnership structures strongly preferred.

* Familiarity with GAAP compliance and internal control frameworks.

* Exposure to treasury or cash management functions is a plus.
