The optometrist will conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare.

• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
• Conduct eye exams and perform vision tests, analyze results.
• Perform verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reason for visit, and visual wants and needs.
• Instruct, recommend and advise patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual needs.
• Assist support staff in patient recaps and care coordination.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend and provide treatments such as vision therapy or low‑vision rehabilitation (brand specific).
• Provide pre‑ and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer to other healthcare providers within proper time frame.
• Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining contact lens care and frequency of eye examinations.
• Communicate appropriate lens recommendations to opticians and sales personnel, including latest technologies and coatings.

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state board examinations.
