Summary:
The Child Life Specialist is responsible for assessing, educating, preparing and supporting patients and families in the health care system. The child life specialist collaborates with other health care providers, as well as the community, to promote growth and development and facilitate positive adjustment for patients and families throughout the health care experience. As a child life staff member, the child life specialist demonstrates a commitment to the values of Cook Children's Health Care System, integrating them into each job function:

Qualifications:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or a closely related field
- Completion of child life internship
- Certified Child Life Specialist, by exam preferred within one year of hire
- BLS required within 60 days of hire
