Job DescriptionThe Advanced Practice Fellowship Program Director role is intended for an existing provider who will shift a portion of their clinical time into administrative leadership (0.2 FTE). The Fellowship Program Director is responsible for leading the development, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of the Acclaim Health Family Medicine APP Fellowship Program. This role ensures a structured, high‑quality educational experience for Fellows by coordinating clinical rotations, overseeing the didactic curriculum, managing the recruitment and selection process, evaluating Fellow performance, and coordinating guest faculty participation.
Acclaim Health is a multi‑specialty medical group practice comprised of over 500 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who partner with JPS Health Network. JPS Health Network has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation.
- Leads the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process for Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) and Physician Assistant (PA) Fellows.
- Oversees Fellow scheduling, including clinical rotations, didactic sessions, and orientation activities.
- Collaborates with Associate Department Administrators and Practice Managers to develop clinical templates and ensure appropriate scheduling of APP Fellows.
- Develops, coordinates, and delivers Fellowship didactic content, including curriculum planning, speaker scheduling, and direct teaching.
- Maintains accurate records of Fellow hours, evaluations, conference participation, and program milestones to meet internal and external reporting requirements.
- Manages program documentation and ensures timely submission of all materials required by accrediting bodies (e.g., ANCC), including annual reports, encounter logs, and reaccreditation materials.
- Coordinates and maintains program files, correspondence, proposals, and reports related to program operations and compliance.
- Collaborates with the Executive APP and key stakeholders to review and communicate financial, operational, and quality performance metrics.
- Serves as a primary point of contact for Fellows, faculty, and stakeholders, providing timely communication and responsive program support.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and effective communication in all interactions with Fellows, faculty, and leadership.
- Maintains knowledge of graduate‑level education standards, academic calendars, and fellowship program requirements.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to manage program documentation and communications.
- Manages multiple responsibilities simultaneously, demonstrating strong organization, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or other doctoral degree in a healthcare‑related field.
- Knowledge of American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Accreditation (APPFA) standards.
- Experience developing or leading accredited fellowship or residency training programs for advanced practice providers.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision‑making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery.
- Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR).
