- Provideassistanceduringlocaldonoridentification,stabilizationandmanagementoforgan/tissuedonors.
- Providesafeandtimelytransferofblood,tissuetypingmaterials,organs,andtissuestotheappropriatefacility.
- Coordinatestheorganrecoveryprocessintheoperatingroom.
Providingperfusion,preservation,packaging,anddistributionofrecoveredorgans/tissuesfortransplantationand/or research. - Assistwiththeanatomicaldissectionandplacementofkidneysonapreservationpumpandisresponsibleformonitoringkidneyfunctionduringperfusion.
- Responsiblefordeliveryofkidneysonthepreservationpumptothereceivingtransplantcenterensuringproperverificationofdonorinformationandallocation.
- Receiveandscreenreferredorganoffersfromdistantorganprocurementagenciesandprovideaccuratecommunicationofinformationtolocaltransplantcenters.
Coordinatesandparticipateswithrecoveryteamsinthedistantacquisitionoforgans/tissues. - Responsibleforthemaintenanceofprocurementequipment,recoverysupplies,andprocurementsupplyroomtoensureoptionalefficiency.
Doyouhavetheeducationandexperiencetobea Donation Recovery Specialist ?
- Completionofa Certified Scrub Technologist (CST)
Certified First Assist (CFA),orotheralliedhealthtrainingprogram,orequivalentexperience. - Musthaveandmaintaintheir Texasand Nationallicensureand /orcertificationifapplicable.
- Fouryearsofexperienceinanacutecarehospital,pre-hospitalemergencycaresetting,ororganprocurementorganizationpreferred.
- Musthaveknowledgeofhumananatomy&medical terminology.
