AI & Data - AI Strategy - Senior Manager - Oil & Gas Sector

The opportunity

As part of our growing AI & Data practice, we seek a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead enterprise AI strategy and quantitative modeling for clients in the Oil & Gas sector. This role involves designing and operationalizing responsible, scalable AI solutions, and leading client engagements focused on Generative AI, Agentic AI, MLOps, and AI governance — impacting upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

You will leverage industry-specific models and innovative operating designs to deliver impactful AI investments, overseeing assessments, operating model design, governance, and process design to align AI initiatives with business strategies.

Your

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engagement delivery, ensuring quality and risk management.
• Manage client relationships, revenue, and new opportunities.
• Develop resource plans and budgets aligned with performance goals.
• Define enterprise-wide AI and modeling strategies for oil & gas value chains.
• Establish AI governance frameworks ensuring responsible AI use and compliance.
• Design and operationalize Agentic AI solutions for complex tasks.
• Prioritize AI use cases based on value, feasibility, and risk.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver AI solutions.
• Partner with business and IT leaders on AI-driven transformation.
• Implement Model Ops and MLOps practices for transparency and monitoring.
• Lead AI architecture, including cloud deployments (Azure, AWS).
• Serve as a thought leader in emerging AI technologies.
• Drive internal capabilities in Responsible AI and sector-specific solutions.

Skills And Attributes For Success

Strong analytical skills, experience managing client relationships, and effective communication are essential. The ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions is crucial.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred, in Computer Science, Applied Math, or related, with consulting experience.
• 10+ years in technology consulting, digital transformation, or AI solutions.
• 5+ years leading AI/ML projects and managing teams.
• Expertise in AI platforms, data architecture, and cloud-native MLOps.
• Experience with Generative AI frameworks and model scaling.
• Proficiency in Python, Pandas, PyTorch, SQL, and related tools.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience managing change, leading teams, and influencing stakeholders.
• Knowledge of energy sector operations, ESG, and regulatory trends.
• AI certifications and familiarity with agile and design thinking.
