Apex Systems, the Nation’s 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has multiple openings for a Service Technician for an IT Services company in Fort Worth, TX. This is a 6‑month contract with potential extensions and opportunity for full‑time conversion.

Essential Functions of the Job- Configure hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, servers.
- Deploy images and customize software based on provided work instructions.
- Identify and troubleshoot system hardware problems.
- Perform quality‑control inspections.
- Provide labs management with daily or weekly productivity reports.
- Manage company resources efficiently (parts, tools, inventory, own time).
- Navigate SAP and Excel for order processing.
- Protect and maintain company assets and property.
- Escalate problems to laboratory management as needed.
- Represent the company professionally and communicate with associates and clients.
- Complete required documentation for accurate billing (warranty/contract).
- Maintain efficient lab space utilization.
- Assist other team members on projects.
- Operate a pallet jack.
- For National Repair Center assignments: perform necessary hardware and peripheral repairs, minimizing customer downtime.
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four‑year college/university or 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. Experience with PCs, messaging and server software applications required. LAN/WAN knowledge and basic scripting automation a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems and vendor diagnostics, imaging software such as Ghost, MDT, SCCM.
- Minimum one year of hardware troubleshooting experience (laptops and desktops for Tier One vendors).
- Familiarity with vendor websites for updates, driver updates, engineering changes – IBM, Compaq, HP, Toshiba, etc.
- A+ certification and at least one vendor hardware certification required.
- Minimum 1 year bench and/or on‑site service technical experience.
High technical proficiency with IT equipment. Working knowledge of Windows 7, 8.x, 10, macOS, iOS. Comfort with assembly and re‑assembly of devices. Strong troubleshooting and multitasking. Ability to keep current with alternative systems and recommend technology. Accurate data entry skill. Knowledge of receiving, warehouse and safety procedures is a plus.
Physical Demands- Stand, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel.
- Close and distance visual acuity required.
- Moderate to heavy lifting.
- Ability to endure travel stress.
- Moderate noise (office with computers, phones, printers, light traffic).
- Work in confined area.
- Sit at computer terminal for extended periods.
