The opportunity

We seek a Data Architecture Manager with a strong understanding of data and technology within the Life Sciences (Clinical R&D and Commercial) sector, complemented by a solid track record of delivery. The role spearheads design, development, and governance of client data architectures, ensuring scalable, secure solutions that align with business objectives and support data imperatives. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable solutions that unify, enrich, and derive insights from varied data sources across a broad technology landscape.
  • Guide clients through modern data science, analytics, and software engineering, providing technical development and engineering excellence.
  • Manage and deliver one or more processes, solutions, and projects, focusing on quality, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder meetings to capture requirements, define use cases, and align on data architecture strategy.
  • Architect solutions on AWS, Databricks, Snowflake and design conceptual, logical, and physical data layers.
  • Conduct design reviews, propose best practices, and ensure usability and efficiency.
  • Present to clients and contribute to proposals for complex projects.

Skills And Attributes For Success

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams:
    Business Leads, Data Scientists, Analysts, and IT.
  • Lead workshops and design sessions.
  • Architect on AWS, Databricks, Snowflake.
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data layers.
  • Perform data design reviews.
  • Create blueprints for data extraction and transformation.
  • Present complex solutions.
  • Application integration with third‑party SaaS.
  • Cloud computing architecture.
  • Implement data integration best practices and platform modernization.
  • Standardize delivery practices for Big Data solutions.
  • Engage senior client technology leaders to propose solutions.
  • Define best practices for data management in Hadoop or cloud environments.
  • Recommend alternatives for ingestion, processing, and provisioning layers.
  • Enterprise‑grade implementations.
  • BI and analytics database experience.
  • Translate business challenges to secure, performant, scalable solutions.
  • Experience with big‑data architecture patterns (Lambda, Kappa).
  • Performance benchmarking of enterprise applications.
  • Data security (in transit and at rest).

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10‑15 years of full‑time experience in Data Architecture/Engineering.
  • 2‑4 years of direct technical team management.
  • At least 2 years in life‑sciences domains (Clinical R&D and Commercial).
  • Proactive, self‑motivated work style with ownership of problem resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to multi‑task under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and standards.
  • Participation in all AI and Data solution lifecycle phases.
