We’re looking for a hands‑on IT Manager to join a PE‑backed energy company to take ownership of day‑to‑day IT operations and lead a small technical team covering infrastructure, networking, and end‑user support. This role plays a key part in ensuring IT “just works” while the business undertakes a digital transformation.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the technology, supporting their team, improving processes, and keeping systems stable in a regulated environment.

• Lead and develop a team supporting servers, networks, endpoints, and end users
• Own daily IT operations across both IT and OT environments, including SCADA
• Ensure availability and performance of Azure‑hosted systems, networks, and core infrastructure
• Run service desk operations, including ticket queues, SLAs, and performance reporting
• Manage vendors, contracts, and service delivery
• Partner with the CIO on budgeting, risk management, and infrastructure planning
• Maintain a strong security posture aligned to CIS / NIST principles
• Identify and implement practical process improvements that reduce firefighting

• ~8–15 years of overall IT experience, with several years in a leadership or lead capacity
• A hands‑on operator who has managed real‑world IT environments, not just strategy
• Experience supporting ~100–300 users in a small‑to‑mid sized organisation
• Strong background in Microsoft technologies
• Solid networking fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS/DHCP; Cisco, Ubiquiti/Uni Fi or similar)
• Experience running service desk operations and managing vendors
• Comfortable working in environments where uptime, security, and reliability matter
