Position OverviewThe Utility Pole Inspection
Supervisor is a leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple foreman and their crews to ensure that projects meet safety, quality, production, and compliance metrics across a designated region. This role involves resource allocation, field leadership, and performance management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the client’s standard. The Field Supervisor serves as a liaison between Senior Project Managers, leadership, clients, and field teams, while maintaining a hands‑on understanding of field operations.
This Supervisor will oversee utility infrastructure inspection and restoration field‑based projects and will have past career experience in this field.
- Lead day‑to‑day operations of multiple field crews performing utility pole inspection and restoration services across a large region.
- Monitor performance metrics and production targets; make real‑time adjustments to maintain safety, quality, and production.
- Conduct regular onsite visits to support crews, resolve challenges, and reinforce expectations.
- Act as the primary field liaison with senior managers, sharing project updates, progress reports, and upcoming work forecasts.
- Maintain accurate tracking of production data, crew hours, and attendance; approve timekeeping and submit timely reports to leadership.
- Perform daily safety and quality inspections; address violations or deficiencies and reinforce compliance with regulations and internal protocols.
- Manage logistics for field crews, including travel and lodging coordination and equipment/vehicle upkeep.
- Engage in field training, on‑the‑job development, and coaching to support skill growth and continuous improvement.
- Oversee performance management, handle disciplinary matters, and maintain employee personnel records.
- Respond appropriately to field emergencies and escalate incidents following company safety protocols.
- Comply with all company policies and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively 75-100% as required by project demands.
- Proven manager experience, preferably in utility infrastructure, construction, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure inspection and restoration practices, safety standards, and client requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team management and client relations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, influence, and direct team members. Exhibits a growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work with limited direct supervision.
- Understanding of operations, processes, and standards in the utility industry or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, anticipate consequences, and implement resources.
- Apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Identify, address, and resolve problems in varied situations.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Working in diverse environments such as roadways, fields, forests, remote, or urban areas.
- Standing, walking, and working on uneven terrain for extended periods.
- Working in noisy and potentially hazardous environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and other environmental elements.
- Regularly traveling to multiple job sites with frequent overnight accommodations.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $92,000 annually, based on experience.
Annual Incentive: Potential bonus of $5,000 - $15,000 based on individual and company performance.
