Pay or shift range: $35,610 USD to $41,885.04 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Reports to: General Manager (GM)

Department: Club Operations

Purpose: Helps manage a team of employees in a designated location, ensuring compliance with Excel and Planet Fitness policies, practices, and objectives.

• Assist GM in planning and implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on Excel Core Values while maintaining a positive culture.
• Accountable for the hiring process, including selecting candidates, conducting interviews, and ensuring onboarding documentation is filled out to standards.
• Train and develop new team members.
• Ensure all Team Players stay up to date on certifications and scheduled training requirements.
• Counsel and discipline team member performance. Supervise, inspire, motivate, and coach staff to perform at their best.
• Support GM with monitoring KPI goals and metrics for the club.
• Support GM with audit/approval of HRIS items, including payroll, timecards, bonus submissions, time off requests, onboarding/offboarding tasks, and job requisition postings.
• Ensure a clean facility with a great atmosphere and world‑class member service, including:
  • Perform daily club inspections and assign cleaning tasks with follow‑up checks.
  • Enter work orders into the Computer Maintenance Management System to keep facilities and equipment serviceable.
  • Hold Team Players accountable for meeting company standards, audit daily paperwork, and resolve day‑to‑day member issues.
  • Manage club inventory and coordinate necessary orders with GM and HQ.
• Assist GM and back office with marketing and promotional activities for the club.
• Create and edit club schedules, payroll items, and associated commissions as needed.
• Ensure all Team Players adhere to company policies, addressing minor infractions and reporting major infractions to GM and HR for remediation.
• Audit club inventory and recommend orders to GM.
• Assist GM with conducting Team Player Assessments (TPAs) and competency evaluations.
• Maintain availability outside shifts as a direct contact for operational questions or emergencies.
• Be on call during company peak season/sale expirations when needed.
• Oversee club operations and staff when GM is unavailable.
• Represent the company at community and outreach events.
• Lead and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.

• Assist the Personal Training Manager (PTM) in planning and implementing strategies to attract and retain members, maintaining a positive culture.
• Support PTM with KPI monitoring for the personal training department.
• Ensure all Personal Trainers have current certifications and drive performance of sessions.
• Assist PTM with audit/approval of HRIS items for personal trainers, including service hours, session pay, timecards, commissions, and bonuses.
• Collaborate with Regional and Revenue Personal Training Managers to develop and track KPIs and monitor department health.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR/AED certification required; new hires will receive training within 30 days if uncertified.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise others.
• Familiarity with Excel mission, values, vision, culture, and Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements.
