Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist the material fulfillment function including managing critical material reviews with external vendors and the GE MRO network. Work for quick resolution to support OWS site with strong sense of urgency. Put away and pull materials in alignment with production plan and KPIs. Ensure parts are stored accordingly to prevent damage and contamination.
  • Practice effective inventory management strategy that assures site inventory levels are kept at lean levels while still supporting shop operations. Assist with regular cycle counts, inventory management, and process improvement initiatives, and participate in site-wide Annual Physical Inventory.
  • Create order demand in SAP, including creation/duplication of internal material demand with both internal and external sources. Use discretion on bulk ordering to decrease the number of purchase orders issued and the number of packages to receive. Add chemicals to SAP ERP as needed and order consumables/chemicals to support site operations.
  • Assist with Gate 2 processes (repair and kitting cycle) through liaison with technicians, production, and planning team. Unpackage incoming shipments, assist with receiving aviation materials in site ERP, prepare outgoing packages for shipment, and create shipping labels with various shipping companies. Physically prep assets to ship and receive (direct material, indirect material, tooling, consumables) and verify that all incoming and outgoing parts/materials/components comply with local and GE Aerospace quality system standards.
  • Visually examine materials and accompanying paperwork for defects and sort articles accordingly. Accurately identify part numbers, serial numbers, and quantities and confirm that all match the accompanying paperwork.
  • Physically dispose of hardware and/or low demand/obsolete inventory.
  • Understand import/export/ITC requirements and create commercial invoices for parts/tools/materials coming into and going out of the facility.
  • Use powered equipment as needed, such as time‑down forklift.
  • Comply with safety requirements, complete training per schedule, and participate in investigations and read‑across as requested. Promptly identify safety issues and work with the team to pursue solutions and raise safety issues to leadership.
  • Participate in assessments, read‑across, and PFMEAs to identify and understand sources of defects. Promptly identify and elevate risks to leadership and work with the team on solutions.
  • Participate in LEAN events and apply learnings to daily activity. Apply and improve upon standard work in the area of responsibility. Identify sources of waste and customer dissatisfaction, elevate to leadership, and work with the team to find solutions.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Work second shift as your regular assignment.
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or High School diploma / GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Aerospace, Warehouse, Logistics and/or Distribution Operations.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Availability to work flexible shift patterns as required, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability and willingness to support calls during off‑hours when emergency situations arise.
  • GE On‑Wing Support is a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Desired Characteristics
