Pallet Repair Construction Associate

Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full‑time Skilled Laborers and Construction Professionals to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.
- Hourly Pay: $18.00 per hour during training
- Additional Pay: $0.49 piece rate will apply in place of hourly rate after training is completed
- Schedule:
Third Shift (Friday‑Sunday 4:30am‑3:00pm and Monday 4:30pm‑3:30am)

Hammer, Prybar and power tools such as Nail Gun, Grinder, Saw
- Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered or hand tools to repair or assemble pallets.
- Place pallets on the repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards and secure the boards in place.
- Stand for long periods of time (8‑10 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- 0‑1 year of carpentry or construction background (preferred)
- Basic math comprehension
- Ability to operate power tools safely
- Ability to follow repair process instructions
- Must twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently
- Must use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day)
- Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check; a road test; and/or customer‑specific background or badging requirements.
Responsibilities (Detailed)- Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
- Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from pallets.
- Operate a hammer, grinder, and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25‑lb nail gun to nail together components.
- Manually lift 70‑lb pallets from a stack to a repair table.
- Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP’s quality control audit.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
- Perform other duties as required.
