The Furnace Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring industrial furnaces used to heat, treat, or process metal products according to production specifications. This position ensures products are processed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards while maintaining equipment and production records.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Operate and monitor industrial furnaces following production schedules and work instructions.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment and handling procedures.
- Set and adjust furnace temperatures, cycle times, and other operating controls to meet product specifications.
- Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure quality standards are met.
- Record production data, temperatures, cycle times, and other required documentation.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist with other production duties as assigned.
