Registered Nurse

My Health My Resources provides information and referral services to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and their families. MHMR is committed to getting support and information to people with IDD needs and is looking for an RN to join their committed and caring team. Please note that this position requires proficiency in the use of healthcare technology, such as laptops and web-based EHR systems.

This position also requires a valid TX driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Group Home Care: IDD has 14 group homes, most are in Fort Worth and all are within Tarrant County. The RN will be assigned up to 5 group homes, or possibly be a floater or fill in for other RNs. You will use your own vehicle to travel between assignments and your mileage would be reimbursed according to the 2025 Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts travel and mileage reimbursement rate of 70 cents per mile.
• Group Home Care Tasks Include: nursing assessment; delegation of medication administration; ensure continuity of care from hospital discharge into group home, after emergency room discharge, and after client sees physician or dentist; communication with group home staff, on-call nurse and Charge Nurse.
• Direct Nursing Treatments: dressing changes, injections, medications, tube feedings, nursing education of home care staff of how to provide care for the clients.
• Medication Reconciliation: work with the pharmacy to ensure the following: current physician orders; medication administration record development or that it matches orders; medications match orders and Medication administration record.
• Documentation:
  Use computers and mobile documentation devices that require a high level of competency - laptops;
  Microsoft Word and Excel;
  Lippincott, Framelink and other web-based documentation systems. Create folders and organize electronic charting forms.
• After hours Calls:
  All MHMR nurses who work Mon-Fri are required to take one week of after hours calls every 8-9 weeks. This includes answering the after hours phone calls from home, which entails giving triage advice or authorizing medications. You are paid by the hour, so you would be compensated through your hourly rate for time spent working on calls, or the hours are flexed the next day to ensure you do not work more than 40 hours/week.

• Experience as a Registered Nurse
• 6mo-1yr in mental health, med/surg, or high acuity.
• Experience in nursing assessment skills
• Experience in case management
• Experience entering data into laptops and typing proficiency
• Experience using Microsoft Word & Excel
• Experience using web-based EHR documentation systems
