Everyone has an important role to play, and with many curious minds we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role Description

Arcadis is seeking an Entry-Level Archaeologist to support environmental planning projects (e.g., linear infrastructure projects) within Texas and the surrounding region. In this role you will conduct archaeological field work for multiple projects and at all levels of investigation, from site identification to data recovery to archaeological monitoring. This role is currently a part‑time as needed field position. It will require collaborating with the Arcadis cultural resources team.

Arcadis offers a flexible working environment and a hybrid structure; however, this is a field position and the successful candidate will work remotely at the project site locations. Travel to various project sites, including overnight travel, will be required (field work expectations are approximately 90–100%).

Role Accountabilities

As an Archaeologist you will apply your technical knowledge to support archaeological services across sectors such as linear utilities, oil and gas, mining, rail and transit, and renewable energies. You will be a key cultural resources team member and work with an interdisciplinary environmental team. Responsibilities include conducting archaeological fieldwork—monitoring, testing, and data recovery—using GPS systems, walking long hours, carrying supplies weighing up to 40 pounds, and working in a range of conditions (rugged terrain, remote locations, hot and cold temperatures).

Qualifications

& Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in anthropology or archaeology
  • 1–2 years of experience in cultural resources management
  • Demonstrated practical field experience within Texas or the surrounding region
  • Working knowledge of GPS systems and the collection of field data
Benefits

Arcadis offers benefits for part‑time, as needed positions, including EAP, 401K, and optional well‑being benefits. Salary range: $22.20 – $30.97 per hour. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, education, budget, and location.
