Assistant Meat Manager – Fort Worth, TX at Albertsons Market
Responsibilities- Maintain an enthusiastic customer awareness atmosphere with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
- Assist customers by making product suggestions, filling special orders, and providing food preparation suggestions.
- Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one‑on‑one customer interaction.
- Assist with planning daily operations, monitor production process following company procedures and profitability.
- Trim, cut, wrap, tray, and display meat; build meat and seafood displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled product; ensure cleanliness of work area and department.
- Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; may be responsible for operation and maintenance of meat cooler, freezer, and butcher block.
- Follow and maintain department standards and requirements in handling quick sales items.
- Assist with ensuring trim specifications and cutting standards are followed; ensure temperatures are maintained in all phases of meat preparation, display, and storage.
- Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
- Understand opening and closing department procedures.
- Train employees on store policies, sales and record‑keeping procedures.
- Possess working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.
- Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department is enforced.
- Assist with preparing sales and inventory reports; physical inventory taken every 4 weeks.
- Control shrink and cost; assist with controlling inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness and maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate product; organize meat cooler.
- Implement correct product preparation techniques; use and operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, grinder, saw, saw blades, safety cutters, and cuber.
- Assist with accurately completing, maintaining and monitoring daily log sheet, Production Chart, Meat Grinding Log, Sales and Labor and other required paperwork and logs.
- Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking and rotating product; adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; maintain accurate department records.
- Ensure proper temperature levels for product are maintained; ensure proper signing of products to include accurate pricing and Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) compliance with labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company and code dating policies.
- Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations.
