Dyna Ten is seeking Commercial Journeyman Mechanical Insulators to join our team! As a Commercial Journeyman Mechanical Insulator, you will gain experience installing diverse Insulation products on Mechanical systems across healthcare, offices, hospitality, data centers, labs, and manufacturing facilities.
This direct role plays a key part in our strategic goals and fosters strong customer relationships.
- Review project documents to understand required Mechanical Insulation systems, insulation product materials requirements, and installation requirements.
- Install various insulation materials on HVAC ductwork, mechanical piping, and plumbing piping, including duct wrap, ridged board, fiberglass pipe covering, Armaflex, Foam glass, Phenolic, and PVC or Aluminum Jacketing.
- Work as a self‑driven nonsupervisory employee, able to act independently and to collaborate with the install team and construction unit.
- Support other trade teams during insulation downtime.
- Measure and create material lists for work areas.
- Work safely and efficiently with Dyna Ten and all project team members.
- Participate in training and safety training, mentor and direct apprentices and other project team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, using personal protection equipment (PPE), company tools, rentals, and personal hand tools.
- Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and processes.
- Minimum 4 years of Commercial Mechanical Insulation experience.
- Required hand tools for the trade.
- OSHA 10 certification (Dyna Ten will certify if needed).
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and handle heavier items with a team, lifts, ladders, elevated work areas, platforms, and in small spaces and heights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to navigate documents, drawings, and software using an electronic tablet (a plus).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills while working with tools. Protective equipment (PPE) and work clothing and boots are required. The role demands physical exertion such as climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy objects, reaching with arms and/or hands.
This position is performed in a non‑climate‑controlled temperature environment, working off‑site at various construction sites and building locations. Position expectations include working full 40‑hour work weeks and maintaining a flexible schedule to achieve project objectives.
