Job Description
Job Summary
The Student Ambassador assists the Office of Institutional Advancement by providing frontline support and assist to donors, alumni, prospective donors, and guests via phone call, text, system management, and excellent constituent service.
Key Responsibilities
Overall
Serve as a representative of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College within the Office of Institutional Advancement
Actively communicate with donors, alumni, prospective donors, and guests via phone, email, and text.
Work to achieve institutional goals including (but not limited to) fundraising, communication campaigns, and systems processes.
Ability to clearly and simply articulate the value propositions of SWBTS to donors, prospective donors, and guests – eagerly participating in processes that express gratitude (thank you notes, call campaigns, scholarship communication processes)
Coordinate with the Digital Development Officer/Data Specialist and the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement to coordinate weekly communication campaigns and campus visits designed to engage the constituencies
Assist with on-campus events including, but not limited to:
Institutional Advancement Events, Campus Tours
Conduct daily business functions to ensure that we deliver our core value propositions to donors, alumni, prospective donors, and guests. Processes include, but are not limited to:
Call Campaigns, System Management (Gift Processes, Financial Processes, Gratitude Processes, Scholarship Process, Convention Planning and Execution)
Communication Support
Understand the giving process (including recruiting prospective donors, partnering donors with development officers), stewardship process (Financial and accountability processes), and gratitude (thank you processes)
Serve as the first line of contact for donors, prospective donors, alumni, and guests via inbound/outbound phone calls, emails, and texts
Make phone calls to constituents regarding expressions of gratitude to donors, call campaigns to prospective donors, etc. Serving with professionalism and proper phone etiquette, representing Christ and Southwestern well.
Provide excellent communication and customer service to all constituents
Serve prospective students with proper phone etiquette and a friendly and informative
Conduct daily business operations, including but not limited to:
Entering all interactions into the Slate database checking the Institutional Advancement email inbox and directing communication as needed
Answering constituent inquiries
Executing call-campaigns
Processing gifts, communication, and fulfilling business processes
Communicate with Development Officers of meaningful interactions with prospective donors and constituents
Essential Job Measurables
Complete more than 10,000+ phone calls in a calendar year.
Respond to inbound emails within 1 working business day, or appropriately direct them to the correct Development Officer or team member.
Answer Institutional Advancement phone within 1-2 rings.
Deliver, manage, or respond to texts and emails in a the communication process
Effectively and proactively respond to inbound communication within 1 business day
It is the employee and supervisor’s shared responsibility to regularly meet to discuss performance, suggest job description updates and set mutually beneficial goals.
Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team and institutional goals.
Specific Skills and Qualifications
The person in this position should possess a bachelor’s degree (completed or in process).
