Backend Developer, DevOps, Cloud Engineer - Software, Java Developer
We are seeking a versatile Software Engineer to contribute across cloud platform services, client-facing application workflows, and on-prem appliance development. This role merges SaaS platform engineering with hybrid cloud/on-prem integration:
Java backend services, REST APIs, secure integrations, Docker packaging, Linux deployment environments, and operationally reliable software that connects local customer systems with cloud services. Full stack flexibility is valuable, but the strongest fit is an engineer who can move comfortably between backend platform work and appliance-style integration work.
- Design and maintain Java backend services, REST APIs, cloud integrations, and distributed platform components.
- Contribute to a Java-based on-prem appliance delivered as a JAR and packaged through Docker for RHEL‑like Linux environments.
- Build secure communication patterns between customer‑managed environments and AWS‑hosted SaaS services.
- Support data models, caching strategies, API contracts, authentication flows, configuration models, observability, and deployment workflows.
- Flex into client‑facing or full stack work when needed, including workflow integration, real‑time behavior, UI/API interaction, or application stability improvements.
- Strong Java backend engineering experience with REST APIs, service‑oriented architecture, and distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS‑hosted SaaS services and platform components such as ECS, EC2, API Gateway, PostgreSQL/RDS, Redis, IAM, networking, and Cloud Watch concepts.
- Experience with Docker, Linux/RHEL‑like environments, deployment packaging, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and release workflows.
- Understanding of secure cloud‑to‑on‑prem connectivity, TLS/certificates, proxies, firewalls, DNS, outbound connectivity, and operational diagnostics.
- Ability to work across backend, cloud, on‑prem, QA, SRE, Dev Ops, and product boundaries with strong ownership and documentation skills.
Spring Boot, React/Angular/Vue, desktop or client frameworks, Web Socket/real‑time systems, event‑driven architectures, geospatial or mapping integrations, SIP/VoIP or communications platforms, AI‑assisted development workflows, observability tooling.
Tech Environment:Java, REST APIs, AWS, ECS, EC2, API Gateway, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Linux, CI/CD, cloud‑to‑on‑prem integration, full stack flexibility, monitoring/observability.
