Backend Developer, Cloud Engineer - Software, DevOps, Full Stack Developer
Our client, a major U.S. airline, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their SRE team, a small group of 4 engineers and an architect supported by a larger offshore team. It's a 6 month contract-to-hire, hybrid in Fort Worth, TX, onsite 3 days a week. While this is an SRE team, the role is engineering focused. This person will build and maintain full stack applications using Java Spring on the back end and Angular or React on the front end, develop the team’s AI agents, and build resiliency improvements like retries and code rewrites that get rolled out to other applications.
They'll also learn the applications the team supports and resolve alerts and incidents using telemetry tools, with training provided on observability and incident management. We're looking for a strong full stack Java Spring developer who enjoys troubleshooting, can quickly pick up unfamiliar code bases, and has hands-on experience building with AI, which is the key differentiator for this role. Experience that is mostly front end development, maintenance-only work on legacy applications, QA or test automation, or traditional support, SRE, or infrastructure work without hands-on application development is not a fit.
The schedule is 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM Central, 5 days a week, on a rotation that includes weekends.
This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
