Essential

Functions
  • Order and track Dock & Door service and project parts, issuing and managing purchase orders in the ERP system.
  • Receive, verify, and stage materials by job number, ensuring completeness before dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate and organized inventory through regular cycle counts and 5S practices.
  • Communicate with the Service Manager, Dispatch, PM Coordinator, and Technicians regarding job readiness and backorders.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Keep staging areas, racks, and warehouse zones organized and labeled.
  • Provide daily and weekly updates on job status and parts flow to leadership.
  • Support the continuous improvement of Dock & Door operations through proactive organization and problem‑solving.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of parts ordering, procurement, or inventory control experience in a service, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience with industrial or mechanical parts sourcing preferred—especially dock, door, or material handling components.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV / ELC preferred); strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills for reporting and data accuracy; ability to interpret technical manuals, parts diagrams, and vendor catalogs.
  • Communication: Clear, professional, and proactive communicator—capable of keeping multiple departments informed on order status and job readiness; demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams including technicians, dispatch, PM, warehouse, and vendors.
  • Interpersonal & Cultural

    Skills:

    Strong conflict‑resolution and problem‑solving abilities; positive attitude, professional demeanor, and commitment to teamwork; demonstrates emotional intelligence, patience, and respect in high‑pressure situations.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines; strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation; maintains a clean, organized workspace and upholds 5S/Lean principles.
  • Character & Work Ethic: Self‑motivated, accountable, and results‑driven; takes ownership of communication and follow‑through; high integrity, reliability, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Physical Demands And Working Conditions
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 70 lbs as part of daily warehouse and staging duties.
  • Approximately 70% of the work is performed in an office environment, handling parts orders, purchase orders, and communication tasks via computer and phone.
  • The remaining 30% of the work is performed in a warehouse or shop environment, where temperatures may vary with the seasons (ambient, non‑climate‑controlled areas).
  • Must be comfortable operating around material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, while maintaining safety awareness at all times.
  • Requires regular use of hands to handle parts, operate computers, and manage documentation.
  • Position may require occasional extended hours or adjusted schedules to meet project deadlines or urgent service needs.
