The Traffic Specialist is responsible for communicating and coordinating with supply chain partners, visitors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. The position involves up to 70% of the day communicating via phone, email, and in-person with the balance of the day ensuring the work is organized and all reporting tasks kept current. Overtime is expected upon business needs.

• Schedule carriers for efficient dock operations including dock door assignments. Follow-up and reschedule as necessary to support getting our products to our customers.
• Monitor and release orders to the warehouse including product allocation.
• Maintain control of the orders/paperwork.
• Process all paperwork for inbound and outbound movements including preparing shipping documentation.
• Communicate within and outside the organization for the operation.
• Provide tracking and reporting as needed and requested.

• Multi-tasking experience
• Experience working with a team to achieve time related goals
• 1-2 years of experience working in a warehouse/distribution center
• The employee occasionally lifts and/or move objects that weigh more than 25 pounds.

• Warehouse experience working with product base of over 2,000 products
• Inventory control experience
• Experience routing local delivery trucks
• Proficiency in communicating

• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, simple multiplication and simple division
• Thoroughness in following direction both spoken and written
• Time Management and efficient operations
• Reliability in attendance and productivity

This position works in a warehouse setting, in an uncontrolled climate. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as manual pallet jacks and other equipment including computers, scales, banding equipment and postage machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
