Roadside Technician – RAC

The RAC is seeking a dedicated Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. As a frontline member, you’ll drive our commitment to keeping drivers safe and members satisfied across the UK.

• Perform quick, accurate mechanical roadside repairs – including battery replacement, tyre changes, flat repairs, and complex fault‑finding.
• Diagnose vehicle issues using advanced tools and RAC diagnostic kit.
• Provide clear, calm communication to members during roadside events.
• Ensure all work meets RAC safety and service standards.
• Log service activities and manage tools and vehicle maintenance.

• Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
• Customer‑focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work flexible, demand‑led hours (average 40 hrs/week).

• £35,000 base salary with realistic OTE of £60,000; top performers earn more through bonuses and enhanced overtime.
• Own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools and diagnostic kit provided.
