Library Services Assistant

Reporting to: Director of Student Services

Classification 10 $ 27.96 - $28.83 per hour in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.58 per hour in lieu of benefits, and 6% vacation pay is paid out with each pay.

The Library Services Assistant's primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, registering library users and maintaining computerized user records, charging, renewing and discharging library materials; collecting fees and fines; assisting users in locating library materials using the online catalogue and providing general clerical support.

This position will provide relief coverage for sick leave, vacation and other various leaves.
Shifts will vary between Monday
- Friday, 8:00am - 6:30pm.

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Experience using an automated library system.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to use tact and discretion.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to use the internet and standard electronic reference resources.

• Library and Information Technology Diploma.
• Experience working in a post-secondary library environment.
