Senior Building Inspector in Development Services

Become a vital part of the Development Services team as a Senior Building Inspector III. Ensure compliance with B.C. Building Code and zoning bylaws while performing inspections and issuing permits.

In this full-time role, your expertise will guide the inspection of buildings and plumbing while interacting with regulatory agencies. Complete plan checks, issue necessary permits, and monitor properties for compliance with various bylaws. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safe and compliant construction practices in the City limits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct plan checks for B.C. Building Code compliance

• Inspect buildings and plumbing at required intervals

• Issue building and plumbing permits as needed

• Liaise with agencies like the Fire Department and Public Health

• Respond to public inquiries regarding construction

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 or relevant education

• BOABC Building Regulatory System Course certification

• BOABC Level 1 Plumbing Exam completion

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License

• Ability to perform duties safely and effectively
