Position: Crescent Park Elementary requires a 0.40 FTE TERM Teacher
Location: Dawson Creek

Crescent Park Elementary – 0.40 FTE TERM Teacher

Effective immediately to June 30, 2026 or until the return of the incumbent, whichever comes first.

This position is for intermediate students in the afternoons. The successful candidate must be willing to accept the increased term from the incumbent.

Crescent Park Elementary School is a safe, caring, and inclusive learning community that supports all learners and encourages respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn. We strive to nurture a school‑wide culture of numeracy and literacy. We also host several clubs and sports teams throughout the year to keep our students engaged and active in learning and healthy living.

Crescent Park Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 school with approximately 250 students and 30 staff. Our focus is on building strong literacy and numeracy skills and developing a strong sense of community where students are safe, respectful, responsible, and ready to learn.

Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
  • Successful K-12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Experience with adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with diverse needs
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Experience working with students who display a variety of behaviours
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team
  • Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques
  • Experience teaching in a multiage group setting
  • Engages in fair, student‑focused assessment practices consistent with the BC curriculum and reporting order, and reflects on evidence of learning to guide instruction

Benefits
  • Relocation Allowance:
    Up to $5,000 for out‑of‑district applicants (with submission of approved receipts)
  • Northern Travel Allowance: A benefit up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee, identified as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit. This allowance is prorated proportionally to hours worked for regular part‑time employees.
  • Remote and Rural Allowance:
    Eligible teachers receive an adjustment to the salary grid and an annual allowance of approximately $3,035 per FTE. Teachers on call (TOCs) are not eligible.
  • The annual allowance may increase under the Collective Agreement with the British Columbia Teachers Federation.
