Position: Dawson Creek Secondary School requires a 1.0 FTE TERM Teacher
Effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Position:
English 10–11 (0.70 FTE) and K-12 Distributed Learning (0.30 FTE) at South Peace Campus.

About the School
South Peace Campus serves approximately 600 students in grades 10–12. The school promotes a Restorative Practices culture that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities
Teach English 10‑11 (full‑time) and support K‑12 distributed learning (part‑time). Create inclusive classrooms where all students feel valued, collaborate with colleagues, reflect on practice, and employ research‑based strategies to improve student learning.

Required Qualifications And Experience

Hold or be qualified for a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate.

Successful K–12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation.

Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Experience adapting and modifying curriculum to meet diverse student needs.

Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans.

Strong classroom management skills.

Experience working with students displaying a range of behaviours.

Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

Willingness to work on school initiatives and goals.

Capacity to work independently and with a collaborative team.

Committed to individualized and group instruction using effective strategies.

Experience teaching in a multi‑age group setting.

Engages in fair, student‑focused assessment practices and reflects on learning to guide instruction.

Benefits

Relocation Allowance:
Up to $5,000 for out‑of‑district applicants (with approved receipts).

Northern Travel Allowance:
Up to $4,000 of salary may be designated as a travel benefit.

Remote and Rural Allowance:
Approx. $3,035 per FTE (subject to agreement). TOCs not eligible.
