Library Technician

Position: Library Technician - Northern Lights College
Location: Dawson Creek

Step into a Library Technician role at Northern Lights College, covering a temporary vacancy through December 2026. You will ensure efficient library operations and support student services.

In this pivotal position reporting to the Director of Student Services, your tasks will include classifying library materials and maintaining the integrated library system. You’ll also engage with vendors, verify invoices, and prepare valuable guides for library users. Your assistance with reference support will directly impact students' academic achievements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and classify the College's library collection

• Oversee the ordering and receipt of materials

• Verify invoice details and reconcile monthly records

• Provide circulation support and covering for Ask Away services

• Assist students with citation formatting and library inquiries

Requirements:

• Diploma in Library and Information Technology required

• Expected 2-3 years of related experience

• Experience with RDA Cataloguing and SITKA Evergreen ILS preferred

• Strong interpersonal and organizational capabilities

• Proven ability to work independently in a public setting
