Job Overview

Effective September 1, 2026. This position at South Peace Campus includes one (1) teaching block.

Candidate will be an active member of the School Based Team and will support students’ academic and social/emotional well‑being.

Responsibilities
  • Assist students with career exploration and timetabling.
  • Support students and parents in understanding selection of courses, programs, and special services.
  • Meet with parents on a regular basis.
  • Consult with the school‑based Learning Services Team.
  • Develop and implement programs to promote health and career awareness.
Required Qualifications And Experience
  • Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate.
  • Successful K-12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Hold, or be willing to complete, a Master’s Degree in Counselling.

  • Experience with adapting and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of students.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with diverse needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Experience working with students who display a variety of behaviours.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals.
  • Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
  • Commitment to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques.
  • Experience teaching in a multi‑age group setting.
  • Engages in fair, student‑focused assessment practices consistent with the BC curriculum and reporting order, and reflects on evidence of learning to guide instruction.
Benefits
  • Relocation Allowance:
    Up to $5,000 for out‑of‑district applicants (with submission of approved receipts).
  • Northern Travel Allowance:
    Up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit.
  • Remote and Rural Allowance:
    Annual allowance of approximately $3,035 per FTE for teachers eligible to receive it.
