Learning Support Specialist at NLC

Enhance student success as a Learning Support Specialist at Northern Lights College. Support students' academic journeys through tailored workshops and personal wellness resources.
This regional role involves connecting students with vital resources and addressing their barriers to success. The Learning Support Specialist will work closely with students in various formats, creating impactful workshops to improve retention and support mental health initiatives. Evening and weekend work may be required to meet student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to students facing learning barriers

• Develop and conduct student success workshops online and in-person

• Administer and maintain student alert system for timely interventions

• Develop student safety plans for those in crisis

• Connect with community resources to enhance student wellness
Requirements:

• Master's degree in a related field

• 3-5 years experience in post-secondary education

• Training in crisis response and student wellness strategies

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and webinar hosting

• Valid driver’s license for campus travel
