Library Technician

Position: Library Technician at Northern Lights College
Location: Dawson Creek

Northern Lights College is seeking a Library Technician for a temporary position until December 2026. This role involves organizing library collections and supporting student services on campus.

Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Library Technician will be responsible for both physical and electronic collections. Ideal candidates will have a Library and Information Technology Diploma and at least 2-3 years of relevant experience. Additional expertise in RDA Cataloguing, SITKA Evergreen ILS, and library support is preferred to effectively aid students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify and organize library materials across all campuses

• Maintain and support the integrated library system

• Order and receive library resources and reconcile invoices

• Cover circulation duties and assist with reference services

• Prepare library guides and materials for student use

Requirements:

• Library and Information Technology Diploma required

• Minimum 2-3 years library experience preferred

• Training in RDA Cataloguing and SITKA Evergreen ILS

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills essential

• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
