Location: Dawson Creek
School District #59 (Peace River South) requires a 1.0 FTE District Principal to work as part of a collaborative leadership team to provide students with a quality education in an environment of continuous learning for all. Effective August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027. This position may be extended.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree with a concentration in an area of educational leadership
- Formal training and demonstrated effective communication skills
- Proven effectiveness as a school administrator in leading staff through a change initiative
- Prepared to act in a mentorship role with teachers and administrators
- Strong understanding of equity and the courage to address it
- Committed to the district’s work on Truth and Reconciliation
- Safer Schools /Safe School Liaison Oversight
- Behavioral Digital Threat Assessments / Erase
- Student Health and Safety
- Social Emotional Learning portfolio
- Collection of district data
- Educational Leadership and Management
- Strategic Plan Alignment and Enhancing Student Learning

Benefits- Relocation Allowance:
Up to $5,000 for out of district applicants (with submission of approved receipts). - Northern Travel Allowance:
Up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit. - Remote and Rural Allowance:
Teachers working in School District No. 59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, approximately $3,035 per FTE.
