Position: School District No. 59 (Peace River South) requires a 1.0 FTE Temporary District Principal
Location: Dawson Creek

School District #59 (Peace River South) requires a 1.0 FTE District Principal to work as part of a collaborative leadership team to provide students with a quality education in an environment of continuous learning for all. Effective August 1, 2026 to July 31, 2027. This position may be extended.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree with a concentration in an area of educational leadership
Formal training and demonstrated effective communication skills
Proven effectiveness as a school administrator in leading staff through a change initiative
Prepared to act in a mentorship role with teachers and administrators
Strong understanding of equity and the courage to address it
Committed to the district’s work on Truth and Reconciliation

Benefits

Relocation Allowance:
Up to $5,000 for out of district applicants (with submission of approved receipts).
Northern Travel Allowance:
Up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit.
Remote and Rural Allowance:
Teachers working in School District No. 59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, approximately $3,035 per FTE.
