This role entails working with students facing difficulties due to mental health issues, either within alternative education programs or regular classes. You will be responsible for crisis intervention, facilitating group counseling, and assisting students in connecting with outside services. This position is vital for fostering a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in student placement and progress meetings
• Assist in developing life skills and behavior programs
• Provide crisis intervention as needed
• Facilitate group counseling sessions under supervision
• Monitor students and connect them with resources
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two years of related college coursework
• Two years of recent counseling experience
• Valid B.C. driver’s license required
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
Support students' emotional and social development as a Youth Care Worker at North Peace Secondary School.
