Position: Counselor for Grades 7-9 at Dr. Kearney School
Join Dr. Kearney Middle School as a Counselor for the  school year, focusing on grades 7-9. Help create a nurturing environment for a diverse student population through dedicated counseling practices.

This temporary full time role with School District No. 60 (Peace River North) demands a skilled Counselor committed to fostering an inclusive educational experience. Candidates must have expertise in Social Emotional Learning and a strong foundation in the BC Curriculum. The role involves supporting teachers, developing intervention plans, and enhancing the social and emotional skills of students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a caring and safe classroom environment

• Implement classroom management practices promoting student dignity

• Coordinate with staff to develop School Improvement Plans

• Guide students through social and emotional challenges

• Liaise with outside agencies for comprehensive support

Requirements:

• BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

• Master's degree in counseling or psychology

• Familiarity with universal design and behavior assessments

• Proven record in classroom management strategies

• Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams
