School ContextTremblay Elementary School
Located in the heart of Dawson Creek, Tremblay Elementary is an energetic Kindergarten to Grade 7 school, home to approximately 190 students. We’re proud to offer a learning environment that highlights Music, Athletics, and Skills Development, helping students grow not only as learners, but as confident, creative, and capable individuals.
Through engaging focus groups and enriching after school programs, students have the opportunity to explore their interests, develop new talents, and build healthy habits that support lifelong success.

Our passionate team includes a Principal, Vice‑Principal, classroom teachers, a Learning Assistance teacher, Teacher‑Librarian, and Coach‑Mentor—all working together to support student learning. We’re also fortunate to have a Family Support Worker who helps connect families with community services, and a team of Educational Assistants who provide meaningful support throughout the school day.
Tremblay Elementary is proud to offer a breakfast/snack program for all students and a hot lunch program available daily, ensuring every child has the nourishment they need to learn and thrive.
About the RoleWe are seeking teachers to be a part of our team. The ideal teacher candidate begins with students at the heart of their practice; teaching the learner, not just the curriculum. - Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
- Successful K-12 teacher training and practicum or evaluation documentation
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Experience with adapting, and modifying, curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with diverse needs
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience working with students who display a variety of behaviours
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Willingness to work and implement school initiatives and goals
- Capacity to work independently and in collaboration with a team
- Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques
- Experience teaching in a multiage group setting
- Engages in fair, student focused assessment practices consistent with the BC curriculum and reporting order, and reflects on evidence of learning to guide instruction

Benefits in Working for School District No. 59- Relocation Allowance:
Up to $5,000 for out of district applicants (with submission of approved receipts) - Northern Travel Allowance:
Up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit, prorated for part‑time employees - Remote and Rural Allowance:
Teachers working in School District No. 59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, which is both an adjustment to the salary grid and an annual allowance of approximately $3,035
* per FTE. Teachers on call (TOCs) are not eligible to receive this allowance
* The annual allowance may increase as defined within the Collective Agreement with the British Columbia Teachers Federation.
Employees of School District No. 59 qualify for the Canadian Revenue Agency Residency Deduction. If you lived in a prescribed intermediate zone (Zone
B), you can claim a basic residency amount of $5.50 for each day that you lived in this zone; an additional residency amount of $5.50 for each day you lived in this zone if you maintained a dwelling and are the only person claiming the basic residency amount for that period and dwelling.
