Position: Primary Literacy Teacher Across Districts
Location: Dawson Creek

Enhance literacy skills as an Itinerant Primary Literacy Teacher with School District No. 59. Travel to various schools, assist educators, and lead workshops while positively impacting student learning.

This role requires a Master’s degree focused on literacy and a valid BC Teaching Certificate. Ideal candidates will possess three to five years of experience in K-3 literacy education and a commitment to improving student reading and writing. Flexibility in scheduling for after-school presentations is essential to collaborate with classroom teachers and conduct literacy assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel weekly to multiple schools including Tumbler Ridge

• Assist in literacy assessments for students

• Lead professional development workshops for educators

• Collaborate with classroom teachers on literacy strategies

• Support Literacy Resource Teachers in schools

Requirements:

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate

• Master’s degree with focus on literacy

• Experience in K-3 literacy teaching

• Strong understanding of research-based literacy strategies

• Ability to work independently and in teams
