Position: Arts & Sciences Instructor - WGST 100  (26:133)

Salary

$50.07 – $56.75/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% on all regular earnings in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Employees in this division have the opportunity to enroll in the College Pension Plan, with contributions matched by the Employer.

Salary: $50.07 - $56.75 per hour

Description

NLC requires one sessional instructor to teach the section as indicated below – with the contract consisting of approx. 96 hours. The course delivery is through video conference from either the Dawson Creek or Fort St John campus and will take place on Mondays & Wednesdays from 11:45am – 1:15pm.

WGST 100:
Women and Gender Studies
- This survey course will introduce students to Women's Studies as an interdisciplinary field. A wide range of issues, some of which are controversial, will be explored from historical, political, and societal perspectives and through a variety of media.

Qualifications
  • Masters' Degree in Philosophy;
  • Demonstrated expertise in logic and reasoning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Committed to student motivation and success; and the
  • Ability to collaborate as an effective team member.
Preference Will Be Given To Those Who Also Have
  • PhD in Philosophy
  • The Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or an equivalent credential in adult education, or a readiness to pursue such a credential.
  • Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary environment;
  • Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and teaching through multiple delivery modalities, and
  • Experience instructing a culturally diverse group of students, including Indigenous and international students.
