Commissioning Engineer

Match Box Consulting is on the hunt for a Commissioning Engineer. The Engineer applies professional engineering knowledge to support medium-complexity projects or operations. Responsibilities include design development, problem resolution, analysis, planning, estimating, and quality management while ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met.

Contract: 1 year

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop safe engineering solutions; interpret specifications; resolve technical and unusual field engineering problems.

• Support project/operations management: propose plan changes, estimate costs, recommend contractor payments, coordinate schedules, and prepare progress reports.

• Contribute to technical standards and provide guidance to other engineering professionals.

• Ensure project documentation retention according to EGBC Bylaws; apply own or firm’s Permit to Practice Number.

Education & Skills:

• P.Eng. or P.Geo. registered (EGBC or eligible).

• Familiarity with CAD systems and standard design/analysis software.

• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Proficient in English (written and spoken).

• Familiarity with digital sign/seal technology (Notarius) may be required.

Must Have:

• 8+ years in relevant engineering field.

• 2+ years of electrical commissioning experience.

• Strong computer and communication skills; field coordination and problem-solving expertise.

Nice to Have:

• Protection and control commissioning experience.

• Hydro power generation experience.
